Apple top of Profit Charts but Nokia and Samsung Gaining

It looks like iPhone maker Apple has outpaced 2 of the world’s largest mobile phone manufacturers in the top profit stakes as it has been announced that Apple steals the top slot from Nokia as top profit generator in the September quarter according to research company Strategy Analytics, reports an article over on Indian express.

Apparently on Tuesday Nokia announced they had begun to deliver their top range Nokia N900 smartphone while Samsung has announced they are to launch their own mobile phone platform called bada sometime in December.

Mobile phone giants, Nokia and Samsung combined account for approximately sixty percent of all mobile phone globally, but lately both have lost ground to Apple and their iPhone and Research In Motion’s BlackBerry smartphones.

As for that Nokia N900 smartphone Nokia is now pushing out, the Nokia N900 is the first Nokia handset to run on the Maemo operating system and something that analysts see as the key to Nokia regaining lost ground in the future.
