Verizon Palm Pre Plus Experiencing Problems?

Verizon hasn’t had the webOS toting Palm Pre Plus on their network for too long but it appears the smartphone is already experiencing a couple of issues as precentral reports on GPS and WiFI issues.

Apparently there have been several reports of that when users of the Verizon Palm Pre Plus use WiFi they are unable to send an MMS message, which appears needs to be sent via Verizon’s EVDO, an issue the Sprint Palm Pre hasn’t had thus far. The easy workaround is of course simply to turn off WiFi before sending the MSS.

Another issue being experienced and is looking like becoming a serious one is GPS, the issue being full tower assisted AGPS only works with Verizon Navigator and no other application, which is leading people to believe Verizon is locking it down.

However they say that this may not be the case as the Verizon Palm Pixi Plus can gain quick access to GPS locks. Apparently the quick workaround for the problem is to open Verizon Navigator before using GPS on other applications.

I've had the palm pre for one month & it completely died 3 times. I am on my third one & want to give up. It just stopped working, would not send or receive txt msg & phone calls. It happened all 3 times when out of town & Verizon keeps saying they will fix it and we won't have to worry about it! If your considering it understand that this will happen & Verizon will not offer any solutions and may make you pay for a new phone after 30 days!

I hate my Palm pre. It dies freq, the battery will not make it through the day even when I do not use the internet function. I have my volume to the max for ringtone and cannot hear it unless I am in a quite room and within a couple of feet of the phone. My LG I could hear the ring tone from the other side of the house on a different floor.

I bought a Palm Pre – Verizon – 5 months, so far I have replaced it 2 times. I do not want to keep this phone any longer but Verizon will not refund my money. They state the warranty was good for 30 days. The first Phone would just lock up requiring the battery to be pulled for a reboot. The phone store initially said it was not a problem until I took the phone back in the locked up state. At this point I was given a refurbished phone. The refurb lasted a total of 6 weeks and now you cannot make phone calls! Verizon again is sending me a refurb vice getting me a new phone. Since Verizon is selling an inferior phone, it seems they would provide me an allowance from my original investment. After only 5 months and numerous issues, I would gladly take another system but I feel they should share in the expense.

My palm pre + is boke, the volume graphic won't go away apparently this is a regular problem with this phone. I have sent it away for repair hopefully because it's such a big problem with the phone it should be fixed.

My palm pre plus (my third palm pre plus) won't ring. I got a refurbished phone because the speaker on the back went bad. It started crackling then could only be heard in total silence. The new one has a good speaker but, won't ring. It alerts me when I have a message but no audible ring. I think they should have tested that. They sent me a list of all the tests it passed.

My Palm Pre Plus has a problem with the contacts. Contacts in the same profile will "Link" to other contacts in that profile for no known reason. The linked names and numbers seem to have NO relation with one another. Some time the same name may link together, but mostly they are not the same name, number, or address. When I choose "Unlink" to separate the contacts, they will not completely separate, and I will find that the email address has gone with "other" contact, or the "Notes" will have been switched.
Is there a way to shut off the "Auto Linking", or a "Mass Unlink" method. All the linking is within the same Profile. I have No face book or Twitter accounts.

I am on my fourth one as soon as they ship it. This one would not work in 20 degree or below weather (the touchscreen) then it started getting warm on the back…then would not connect or recieve calls..

Okay this is my second Palm Pre Plus. The first one has experienced a bad speaker with no sound coming out of it. Vibrate was the only thing that i could here. Now this second one had mysteriously died when it had a full battery. At first i thought maybe it had a glitch so i took out the battery and reboot it. But it refused to turn on the battery signal was on. Now its been charging and its the same picture the whole time. So i tried the bad battery test. I pushed on it to see if its 'squishy' its not. I have no idea what to do. Verizon needs to put a recall on it or at least tell the customer before buying it all the problems it has.
