Orange will push high definition mobile voice service to UK

Orange are all set and ready to start to push their high definition mobile voice service right across Europe in 2010.

Since launching their first HD voice service last September, they now intend on launching the HD service in France, Luxembourg and Spain this year. In the UK you can expect to see a three month trial which is expected to start in the spring.

Orange have said that the HD voice will provide the best quality of sound, especially when you are in a noisy area, making the people in conversation feel like they are actually standing in the same room.

The system uses codec that enhances quality using existing networks by using speech bandwidth of 50 to 7,000 Hz which is compared to the standard systems which uses 300 to 3,400 Hz. Prices and handsets will be announced later when the service arrives in the UK, they have also unveiled some new tariffs at the MWC. To find out more visit itpro.co.uk
