Vodafone UK cut 375 jobs but hiring 170 more

Vodafone UK has just released a statement saying that they will be cutting 375 jobs as of this month, but the strange thing is they will be employing 170 more.

The operator will be cutting 375 from its back office workforce and will add 170 frontline staff, plus 50 graduates from September. Mobile Today has the statement published on its website that briefly says 375 roles from March 2010 will be cut in a number of locations, but mainly in back office functions.

HR director of Vodafone UK, Matthew Brearley said ‘We’re committed to increasing the number of customer facing employees, which will help us simplify our business and continue to deliver outstanding communications services across the UK’s best network.’

We would love any Vodafone employee to step forward and let us know what you think of the above, please post all your comments below. Thanks
