Sprint HTC EVO 4G to get Skype Mobile: Android and BlackBerry

Under: BlackBerry, Google Android, Phone Software
Date: May 28th, 2010

The latest news just in about Skype Mobile is very interesting indeed because it now seems that the Sprint HTC EVO 4G will be getting this service, Skype did indeed launch its mobile app for Android and BlackBerry smartphones for Verizon Wireless but there were some discrepancies.

Skype Mobile app to just Verizon Wireless customers is down to the exclusive partnership and Android and BlackBerry device owners could not find such application in the app store, the service seems to only run on Verizon Wireless’s 3G network, well not any more folks.

An email conversation has revealed great news, a question was asked about Skype Mobile video chat coming to the new Sprint HTC EVO 4G and in a nutshell the response was that Skype would be launching a standard Android app and a mobile video calling service this year.

You may want to read about Skype focusing on iPhone, Android and Symbian, apparently Windows Phone 7 is not getting a mention at all.
