Apple iPad 2 UK Launch Not Delayed

Apparently there have been some rumours flying around that there could be some delays to Apple launching their next generation iOS tablet outside the US of A. However at least for us over here in the UK it would appear there will be no delay.

According to an article over on TiPb and by way of Tech Radar, the Apple iPad 2 is still on track for its UK release date of the 25th of March, which of course is this Friday and hasn’t been delayed until the 25th of April as rumoured, which apparently was simply a typo error.

The word is the guys at Tech Radar actually managed some how to get Apple to confirm that said UK release date was still hard and fast with Apple stating… “Everything that is on the website still holds true; the website says 25 March and that’s when it’ll be.”

So there you go, as they say, you can’t get better info than from the horses mouth itself, so no need for potential UK Apple iPad 2 owners to worry that they will have to wait longer than expected, although there’s no word yet on just what time you can grab the UK Apple iPad 2.

As Apple have yet to open ordering for the iPad 2 in the UK I suspect that just as last year there will be a delay in it being available here. Apple are notoriously tight lipped about these things, but usually invite pre-ordering some days before launch so those brave enough to buy by mail order can get the items delivered on launch day.

There was no pre-order in the US so why would there be pre-orders here? It will appear on the apple website to pre-order at 12:01am on Friday and be on sale in stores at 5pm 😉

Yeah I've heard websites and rumors saying it will be delayed from 9am to 5pm, which sounds hella stupid. So to be honest i think Apple have planned it for 5pm Friday.

I ordered mine online on Friday the 11th, and I will only get it delivered in the UK on the 25th. I can assure you that there is no chance of getting delivered to you any earlier than 2 weeks after ordering online, in fact even now the time has gone up to 5 weeks in the US as tehy are shipped straight form their China factory to consumer. So the only way to get it in a reasonable time is to queue and pary that they have enough stock in…
