Nokia Lumia 800 Windows Phone UK Release Date
As you probably know, a few days ago Nokia unveiled their first Windows Phone offerings to the mobile space with the Nokia Lumia 800 and Nokia Lumia 710, however Nokia hadn’t given a specific date for release of the devices and most carriers stating as coming soon, well now for those in the UK that might be pondering on picking up the Nokia Lumia 800 we have that release date for you.
According to an article over on The Telegraph, the Nokia Lumia 800 will release on UK shores as of the 16th of this month and will hit the mobile space just one day before rival Samsung launches the first Android Ice Cream Sandwich smartphone, the Samsung Galaxy Nexus, which is due on the 17th.
Apparently the Nokia Lumia 800 will be made available for purchase through all major carriers in the United Kingdom, and although currently the retail price for the Nokia Lumia 800 isn’t known, according to the article 3UK will offer the Windows Phone handset SIM free for Â£399 so suggest other carriers will probably follow suit.
However, according to a recent article by Phones Review colleague Mark, the Nokia Lumia 800 will be offered on contract with tariffs ranging from Â£10 to Â£68 with the device being offers from free up to Â£199.99.
Spec reminder for those interested in the Nokia Lumia 800, a 1.4Ghz processor, Windows Phone Mango operating system, 3.7-inch ClearBlack AMOLED curved touch screen, 16GB onboard storage, f/2.2 Carl Zeiss lens, rear camera but not to sure on megapixel, it will also come with many mobile apps such as ESPN Sports hub, turn-by-turn voice navigation via Nokia Drive and Nokia Music.
Word is the USA will likely see the Nokia Lumia 800 sometime next year while they will see the Samsung Galaxy Nexus launch at the same time as other countries.
