As we get further into summer we are seeing a number of new smartphones getting ready to be launched to consumers, and today we have news of the Motorola Atrix 3 that is gearing up for an AT&T release.

Only last week we told you that the device had been leaked and today according to GottaBe Mobile the handset has again surfaced but this time courtesy of an FCC filing. The filing confirms the handset is set for AT&T’s 4G LTE network, and the device has the model number of MB886, which is similar to the model numbers of the original Motorola Atrix and the Atrix 2.

Unfortunately the FCC filing doesn’t reveal a release date for the device, but considering the device has passed through FCC an announcement about the handset must be just around the corner. The details about the handsets spec sheet remain thin on the ground, but it seems to be AT&Ts version of the Motorola Droid RAZR HD.

Besides 4G LTE connectivity it will feature a display of either 4.3 or 4.5-inch 720p HD, and the handset will come running Android Ice Cream Sandwich. A press images has been leaked of the device and it will have the MotoBlur Android overlay, and the image hints at a July 26th release date.

The carrier has begun to make 4G LTE hardware more affordable recently, and it is thought the Atrix 3 will continue this trend. The Motorola Atrix 2 is priced at a $99.99 price point and there is a chance the upcoming Motorola Atrix 3 could be at the same level. Now the handset has been cleared by the FCC firm details about the handsets pricing and availability should only be days away from being made official.
