It doesn’t seem long ago that we were bringing readers news on which devices would receive Android updates to 4.0 ICS and indeed those rollouts are still continuing. Now though a lot of attention has turned to which devices will be receiving the Android 4.1 Jelly Bean update and there’s good news today for owners of the newest Asus Transformer devices, as it seems Jelly Bean will definitely be heading your way.

The Google Nexus 7 tablet was the first device to be launched running 4.1 Jelly Bean and we have already told how the Galaxy Nexus and Nexus S phones will be the first to receive the Jelly Bean software update. We also recently gave readers information on which other smartphones were most likely to receive the Jelly Bean update but of course tablet owners will be wondering about their own devices too.

The good news then for Asus owners of some Transformer tablets is that Asus has now announced that the 4.1 Jelly Bean update will be coming. The devices that will be receiving Jelly Bean are the Transformer Pad, Transformer Prime and Transformer Pad Infinity and the update is said to be coming in “the coming months.” However if you have either the original Transformer or Transformer Slide the update will not come to your devices at the same time. Asus hasn’t ruled it out further down the line though as it says Jelly Bean updates for other devices are still being investigated but nevertheless it looks as though some Transformer owners could be out of luck.

As for Jelly Bean coming to the Transformer Pad, Transformer Prime and Transformer Pad Infinity, Asus says it will provide “further guidance on our expected timeframes for these updates near their release.
