LG Optimus Regard (LW770) for Cricket, comes with 4G LTE

It seems we are currently under a constant barrage of new smartphones becoming available from the various manufacturers, but given the time of year this is not a bad thing for us consumers that are thinking of getting a new mobile phone. Now today we can tell you about another handset being leaked in the form of the LG Optimus Regard (LGLW770) for Cricket that also comes with 4G LTE.

According to an article over on The Android Soul the evleaks Twitter account has revealed another new smartphone via a leaked promotional image, which seems to be heading to Cricket Wireless and called the LG Optimus Regard.

It seems the handset will be the first smartphone with 4G LTE connectivity available on the carrier, and is thought to be arriving by the end of the year. The handset does look to be aimed towards the budget end of the market though, but is still believed to sport a dual core ARMv7 processor clocked at 1.5GHz.

Other rumoured specifications include a 3.5 or 3.7-inch display with 320 x 480 resolution, 710MB of RAM, 5 megapixel rear camera, and it will come running Android 4.0.4 Ice Cream Sandwich. There is also a front facing camera of unknown quality

Currently there is no pricing or a release date for the device but looking at the packaging for the device it should be available in time for Christmas. There are many customers of the carrier commenting about the upcoming device on the Cricket Users Forum, and while many like the idea of 4G LTE connectivity, the fact the screen has a low resolution is a deal breaker for some.

One user has commented the device already exists on MetroPCS as the LG Motion 4G MS770, but the lack of 4G network in many regions is being questioned by some users, and below we have embedded a video of the device. Are you a customer of Cricket?
