There’s no doubt that Samsung is a brand that attracts plenty of loyal buyers. However, for some time we’ve seen a desire among customers for the company to move away from plastic to a higher-quality build for its smartphones. Therefore, there has been plenty of interest in the Galaxy Alpha, as it has a metal build and looks more like a premium handset.

The Galaxy Alpha price for India is Rs. 39,990 and when we informed readers of the upcoming launch date it was thought it may only be available at brick and mortar stores. However, we now know that it will be available at online retailers as well as retail stores, with availability beginning in the first week of October. The price is cheaper than both the Sony Xperia Z3 Compact and Xperia Z3 that also recently launched in India.

Samsung has also partnered with Airtel so that some buyers can benefit from 4GB of 4G LTE data free for two months. For the money you’ll get a handset with an Exynos octa-core processor, a 4.7-inch Super AMOLED display, 2GB of RAM, and 32GB of internal storage. It has a 12-meapixel rear camera with 4K video capture, a 2.1-megapixel front-facing unit, and a 1860 mAh battery, and runs the Android 4.4.4 KitKat operating system.

The Galaxy Alpha also features a heart rate monitor and fingerprint scanner, and color options are Charcoal Black, Scuba Blue, Frosted Gold, Sleek Silver and Dazzling white colors. It’s an extremely slim Android phone at just 6.7mm thick. What do you think about the newly announced price of the Samsung Galaxy Alpha for India? Are you going to purchase this phone?
