Redmi Note 3 Pro brings specs changes

#

The Xiaomi Redmi Note 3 was made official in November and was launched in China with further markets to follow. Now a variant has arrived in the form of the Redmi Note 3 Pro that brings some specs changes over the earlier version. We’ve got all the gen on specfications and the price up ahead, so if you’re interested in a mid-range affordably priced smartphone do read on.

The Xiaomi Redmi Note 3 arrived with a metal build and a fingerprint sensor. It released in two models, one with 2GB of RAM and 16GB of internal storage, and the other with 3GB of RAM and 32GB of internal memory (both non-expandable). It’s the same set-up on the new Redmi Note 3 Pro that has just been announced, and while the majority of the other specs are also the same there are also some differences.

Xiaomi Redmi Note 3 Pro specs include a change to the Snapdragon 650 64-bit hexa-core processor (four cores at 1.2GHz and two at 1.8GHz) and Adreno 510 graphics. The Note 3 Pro has a 5.5-inch display with Full HD resolution of 1920 x 1080, and is juiced by a sizeable 4050 mAh battery. The Redmi Note 3 Pro also has integrated X8 LTE for Cat 7 speeds and VoLTE support. It’s compatible with all Chinese mobile carriers and supports 4G+, as well as WiFi, Bluetooth, and GPS.

Another change with the Redmi Note 3 Pro regards the camera arrangement. The new phone has a 16-megapixel rear camera with f/2.0 aperture, phase detection autofocus, LED flash, and 1080p video capture, instead of a 13-megapixel rear camera in the existing Redmi Note 3. There’s also a 5-megapixel front-facing camera with 1080p video recording capability. The dual SIM phone runs Android Lollipop-based MIUI 7. The handset measures 150mm x 76mm x 8.65mm and weighs 164g.

The Xiaomi Redmi Note 3 Pro comes in Champagne Gold, Dark Grey, and Silver color choices. Now to pricing, and the Redmi Note 3 Pro price for the 16GB variant has been announced as CNY 999, and it will be available in China from January 17. That price is equivalent to around $151, £105, €139, or Rs. 10,200 although these examples are only guidelines as pricing can vary according to individual market. The phone will release in further regions soon, including India, possibly as early as next month. The price of the larger storage variant has not been detailed yet.
