Gionee F5 hits TENAA with Big Battery and 4GB of RAM

#

We have seen our fair share of Gionee-branded handsets hit TENAA. You can add one more to the list with the Gionee F5, which has just gotten listed with interesting specifications.

Smartphones generally come in two main sizes these days. You have the 5 to 5.2-inch range and then we have phablets at 5.5-inches and beyond. Well, after you go past 6-inches, you are treading into tablet territory but you get the drift. The Gionee F5 is actually listed with a 5.3-inch panel which is a bit odd as is the resolution at 1,280 x 720p. That’s normal for a mid-ranger, but the innards of the F5 tell a different tale.

Under the hood of the Gionee F5 you will find a whopping 4GB of RAM and 64GB of internal storage. There is a microSD card slot to boot, so you won’t have to turn to the cloud anytime soon. The processor is of the octa-core variety and clocked at 1.5GHz, but the manufacturer is unknown although not hard to guess. The camera combo is listed at 13MP and 8MP, which is more than sufficient for most.

While we didn’t see any mention of a fingerprint scanner in the TENAA listing, it appears to have one on the home button. All the usual connectivity options are present as well with Bluetooth, Wi-Fi, GPS, 4G LTE and Dual SIM card slots. The handset measures 150mm x 74.5mm x 7.7mm and has a weight of 162grams. The juice comes from a large 4,000mAH battery and is will run Android 6.0 out of the box.

The Gionee F5 rolled through TENAA on December 5th, so this one could be closer to an actual release. It should be affordable like the rest of the company’s arsenal and will arrive in White and Gold whenever and wherever it lands.
