i have this phone and its AWFUL! i bought mine in september, and since then its gone back for repair 3 times, and had had to have 2 new batteries, 3 new sim cards, the disply it faluty on it and the calls cut out.

i spoke to my service provider and they said that none of it is my fault but Nokia made ALOT of mistakes with this phone, and have had to call back most of them!

I’ve have a few weeks of trouble turning my phone on and off, had to keep removing the battery. My husband bought the same phone and has had nothing but trouble with it. First he couldn’t get it registered, then the screen kept blanking, then he lost all the things stored on the memory. He has a constant problem with the pre installed card games(keep coming up with an application error). No joy from Nokia, it’s been backwards and forwards to the Nokia care centre and they say it’s fine. Initially Nokia told him they had not pre installed the game!!!!!

I bought this phone in Feb 2008 and less than 6 months later the screen cut out, Carphone Warehouse sent it back for repair and today I have been told it is beyone economic repair because it has “moisture damage”. This is a phone which lives in my handbag. Sadly I have to take it out to use it and that is obviously where I have gone wrong!
Caphone Warehouse’s reasons, which I was supposed to accept, were:

    1. I could have used it in the rain (this is the UK!).
    2. I could have used it in the kitchen (what can I say?)
    3. I could have moved from a hot room to a cold one (utterly ridiculous).
At no point when I bought the phone was I told I had to only use it in a room with constant temperature, not outside and definitely not the kitchen.
I note the box it came in is illustraterd with a picture of a couple on a hillside throwing their arms in the air – heaven forbid they have their phone with them!
I am deeply unimpressed with Nokia for their rubbish phone and Carphone Warehouse for their stupidity.

  4. I Have had this phone for only a few months and no problems until a few weeks ago, i am with telstra and when i cheak my credit amount ( *100# ) and then close it once i have seen my blance, My phone simply turns off, as if i had held down the ( end call button ). It turns back on and i ahve lost all memory of any txt messenges in my Inbox. From then on every messege i recive for the next 24 hours come in as ( your credit balance is ( say if it was $2.34) $2.34. ) Or it they come in as, The message you recive that tells you how to use the aplications when you first stat up the phone. I Hate this phone it is useless.

  7. I’ve had this phone for 13 months. 4 days after end of warranty the screen blanked. I was in Tunisia at the time and bought a very cheap Nokia
1200 £22.50 and it is brill, only you have to keep locking the keypad if you put it in your pocket.
    Forget the 6085

i have this phone in pink and ive had it 4 9 months. about a week ago it all of a sudden stopped working for no reason @ all so then we had to go fix it and of course, they fixed it but they didnt know what was wrong with it. this phone sucks because my screen cuts out, and when ur inbox is full u have to delete ur messages then u dont receive any text messages for like an hour and it REALLY SUCKS because i love to text. it ALSO sucks because the plate that covers the battery falls off so i have to tape it on and it looks super retarded. im gonna try 2 come up with the money 4 a new phone because my contract doesnt end for another year and i dont care if i have 2 pay $150 extra just because it isnt over. so what im trying to say is…DONT BUY THIS PHONE ITS A PIECE OF CRAP!!!!!!!!

I've had this phone for 4 years, and have had no trouble with it whatsoever. I don't know why all of you have trouble with it, but It's been kind to me.

I had the Nokia 6085 for many years, till my carrier refused to reactivate it. I could go for weeks on standby, hours of talk time, constantly used mp3 player which had great sound. The included wired headset allowed me to hear phone calls in stereo, which is great in noisy environments. Buttons are of adequate size and slightly raised, making keypad use very easy when going by feel. Used a 2gb sd card in it and could store 400+ plus mp3s, and lots of room left over for pics. Camera not fantastic, but took decent photos at range of 6-20 feet. Had no trouble at all with this phone, and consider it to be the best phone I’ve ever owned, and superior to most 2011-2012 non-smart phones.
Would like to find a new phone of comparable quality, but have been looking for 5 years and haven’t found one yet.
