Where is Research In Motion (RIM), what now?

Research In Motion probably has the best back-end infrastructure for mobile communications in the world and pushes out mobile phones which can go head to head with consumer marketing, high end smartphones and virtually every businessman carries one. But the single area RIM fails in is software.

RIM’s OS architecture is good and has trusted security, but with every OS release it shows that RIM’s OS is somewhat antiquated as it wasn’t designed to do anything the BlackBerry smartphone does now.
