The good news is that the Dopod branded HTC Hero
will keep its WiFI in China, something the Apple iPhone couldn’t do, by playing along with China’s custom WLAN security protocol, although Dopod has stripped Google Maps from the HTC Hero.
The HTC Hero will see release in China along with the HTC Click sometime late August and will command a price tag of 5600 yuan for the Hero, that’s about $820, and 3400 yuan for the HTC Click which is about $500.
