Nokia has big market eye on India with mobile connections

The word is that Nokia has their eye on India as they see India’s fast growing rural market and intends to expand a rural micro finance deal for purchasing mobile phones reports mediamughals.

Nokia recently piloted a scheme in 2 states whereby they sold mobile phone handsets on a weekly instalment plan of 100 rupees and spread over 25 weeks and now intends to expand that offer in another 12 Indian states.

India is a big bet for Nokia as more than 10 million mobile connections are added every month, and India is the 2nd largest market for Nokia in both volume and sales after china.
