Mobile Phones in Q2 rose 14-percent, BlackBerry Curve is top selling handset

Figures are showing that dispite one of the most horrific recessions in recent history, mobile phone sales in the United States continue to outperform reports an article over on streetinsider.

Mobile phone sales volume rose by some 14 percent in Q2 as compared to the same quarter of 08 and is led by smartphones which make up 28 percent of the whole mobile market.

Market Research firm NPD has noted that the RIM BlackBerry Curve was the top selling handset with the two most popular handsets in the feature set going to the Samsung Rant and the LG enV2.
