What would you like to see in iPhone 3.2?

A couple of weeks ago Apple pushed out iPhone 3.1 and no doubt they are already working on iPhone OS 3.0, which could possibly turn up at the end of the month judging by past OS releases.

And so with this in mind, the iphone blog poses the question, “what do you want to see Apple prioritise for iPhone 3.2?” The iPhone already has direct TV and Movie downloads via WiFi there may not be an analogous improvement to iTunes and iPod this time.

Google Latitude and Voice have been rejected so it’s likely Google Maps app won’t be updated either. So what can iPhone 3.2 offer? Better Bluetooth controls, background support for streaming audio, turn-by-turn navigation, API which allows apps to interact with calendar, remote backups, Mobile iChat?

So what would you like to see when iPhone 3.2 finally surfaces?

I would like to see the bluetooth sharing and files transfering with other devices regardless of models.

I would like to see the ability to download musics and movies directly from websites.

I would like to see the ability to set my own sounds for text alerts, voicemail alerts, email alerts, etc instead of having just the default sounds to choose from.

I would also like to be able to set a custom sound for SMS on address book records, similar to how you can set custom ringtones for people in the address book.

Right now the phone is great but too distracting. To reduce the distractions I need to be able to customize who can distract me and set defaults for everyone else.

    I would like to see:

    • Messenger App for MSN, Skype, etc.
    • YouTube Downloads on Youtube App
    • Radio App like iPod Nano (New) (If Available)
    • Hourly Forecast for Weather App
    • Video Preview/Trailer for Apps in App Store
    • Setting for Battery Percentage for iPod Touch and iPhone 3G
    • Ability to have Themes for your Menu so that you don’t need to void warranty by Jailbreaking.
    • Just Store App instead of having App Store and iTunes Store. Starts up with something like Categories but instead of having Games, Entertainment and Utilities have Music, Music Videos, Podcasts, TV Shows, Movies, iTunes U, Audiobooks, Apps, Themes, etc.
    • iPod App for iPod Touch so that you don’t need to click Music or Videos
    • More Connections like TV Out wires, FireWire, etc.
    • Ability to get Music and Movies from Pc/Mac to iPod Touch or iPhone using Bluetooth.
    • Wishlist for Store app
    • Expose (so that you can do more app than one at the same time)

    • ability to turn off rotate screen function
    for reading in bed
    • ability to stop “reading” changing to “Reading” and “me” to “mr” all the time
    • proper timezone support (try changing yours to Cape Verde time – GMT-1 – can’t)
    • sound profiles
    • ability to change silent switch to airplane mode
    • customisable menus in Settings
    • ability to actually customise your own phone – we’re not all black loving Goths

I would like to be able to turn the landscape mode on or off, I think they should come out with a wish list to save songs to save now when I think of one and download later, flash player would be nice, and so would iChat but I’m sure that would kill battery life, but nice for an option, and it would be nice to edit your own voice controls to know your own commands

I am very new to itune s& iphone scene but even I am sick of the lack of web access due to java & flash support being missing – not rite or fair that folks have to go about unlocking or jailbreaking in order to try and get this basic web functionality after all why allow surfing of any web pages at all if you block any that use java or flash? One more thing that simply isnt rite is the lack of support for adobe zoom on documents with clarity – why should users have to pay for an app in order to read basic adobe documents legibly?

I would like the iPhone to have multitasking, push is perfect and great but it sucks to get a text and have to exit an app because you need to answer it. A better notification system for all alerts so that annoying pop up isn’t their, like use grip or tlert like on iPhone but in one seemless way, themeing would be great but I’ll even be happy with chosing a lock screen background and a home screen background, maybe implement an apple version of sbsettings. Bluetooth file share with other files, basic photo capturing abaility like zoom and edit, flash support, ability to download tbings from safari, like audio, and video, and can use that audio as a ringtone or merge into your iPod library without iTunes help and even edit songs in the iPod app. Ability to download all email attachments, documents get saved to notes, voice memos get saved to voice memos, and songs to, or even better just change the pictures to app to media and make a section for pictures, videos, and audio for better organization, independance from iTunes, I even have thought of ways to implement this all in the os without clogging the memory and so that it works with iPhone easy to use operating system, so doing all this will still not be hard for a computer user to understand, all they’ll need is a video tutorial

I would just love to see Adobe Flash for iPhone. Secondly, the ability to create photo albums and better manage songs playlists without the use of iTunes or connecting to your pc/mac.

  9. Ben says:

Flash will never be on the iPhone. Ever. Adobe’s not making it, and Apple doesn’t care. If you want to be able to view a site that you can’t because of Flash, write to the webmaster of the site and tell them you want an iphone version. Otherwise, you’re beat.
