BlackBerry Messenger 5 will go official for Verizon Wireless customers as of today October the 7th according to an article over on the BGR thus confirming an earlier report by Crackberry.

Their information was only specific to Verizon Wireless, but they do believe it will be a complete BlackBerry smartphone wide roll out as all BlackBerry smartphones running operating system 4.5 and up are eligible for the BlackBerry Messenger 5 update.

Probably most BlackBerry users already have a leaked build of BlackBerry Messenger running on their handset, but there’s nothing better than an official release.
