Video: Non Touch Vision Input on Mobile Phones

We all know that since the first availability of the iPhone, touch screens have been a big thing, but maybe the future of smartphones doesn’t lay with touch but rather non-touch?

We have a video for your viewing pleasure courtesy of the guys over at intomobile that shows a new form of input which is being called “vision-based Input Interface” whereby the user doesn’t actually touch the touch screen.

The new tech has been developed by Professor Masatoshi Ishikawa and Dr. Takashi Komuro of the Tokyo University and apparently utilises a forward facing camera to work its magic.

The best way to explain it is for you to hit up the video which lasts nearly two and a half minutes and simply watch this new tech magic for yourselves, after which let up know what you think, we think it’s kind’a neat.
