Google have come up with an honest press conference which was complete with the launch, something that is generally very un Google to unveil its iPhone 3G contesting superphone.

The 2.1 Androids based and produced by HTC widget has a 3.7 inch touchscreen it also has 512MB of RAM a 4GB SD card which is expandable to 32GB and has a 5 megapixel camera.

It runs on a Snapdragon 1GHz Qualcomm and includes Bluetooth and Wi-Fi connections. Google is expected to sell an unsubsidized Nexus One for $529 directly from Google and then the user will need to make their own carrier arrangements.

That may in itself pose some problems as it doesn’t currently work on Verizon, AT&T Sprint or even 3G. However, Google’s dive into retail is probably just what it’s competitors were worried about.
