During CES 2010 in Las Vegas, Viper showed off their SmartStart application for BlackBerry. So rather than fumbling about for your car keys with Viper SmartStart for BlackBerry you simply reach for your BlackBerry handset.

Viper SmartStart for BlackBerry is an app which enables your smartphone to control options with your car such as sound the alarm, lock and unlock the doors, pop the boot and of course, start the vehicle, and will also alert you if your vehicle security gets compromised.

Currently, Viper SmartStart for BlackBerry is only available in the US although will soom come to Canada via Rogers. Viper SmartStart is a free application for BlackBerry which should become available within a couple of weeks.

Although the app itself is free, the user will require a Viper car kit which has a cost range of $300 to $500 depending on if you already have Viper service. We have a video demo of Viper SmartStart for BlackBerry for your viewing pleasure below courtesy of intomobile, so check it out and enjoy.
