Will more RAM bring multitasking to the platform?

Rumors suggest that we may actually see multitasking coming to the Platform, but what about the RAM.

The iPhone 2G and the iPhone 3G have an anaemic 128MB of RAM. The iPhone 3GS has 256MB which is the same amount as both the Palm Pre and the Motorola droid. Both of them do multitask but do get bogged down and sometimes have errors.

The Palm Pre Plus and Google’s Nexus One have upped the RAM to a beefy meaty 512MB of RAM. So okay what does this have to do with iPhone and multitasking?
Time and time again we have all seen that Apple would rather do without offering a feature at all than offer one with poor user experience.

Lets just assume for now that Apple gets better life for batteries in the 4th generation iPhone as well, unless they get more RAM it is tough to imagine them enabling multitasking suppose we’ll just have to wait and see. Source – theiphoneblog.com
