Video: Sony Ericsson XPERIA X10 3D Maps Demo

We have for your viewing pleasure if you are a Sony Ericsson XPERAI fan, a video of the Sony Ericsson XPERIA X10 running their new 3D landscape API whereby satellite maps are rendered in 3D.

According to Erricsson Labs, the SDK libraries use unique maps in 3D along with a speedy method of rendering which enables it to show real-time 3D maps in high quality. Maps for the SDK are downloaded from a backend server and buffered to the Sony Ericsson XPERIA X10 and required.

The 3D Maps demo video is only a short one by it does give you an idea of the concept and it does look quite impressive and the 3D landscape consist of both a Java ME and an Android library.

Not much else to say except hit up the video which can be viewed below courtesy of the guys over at android and me, check it out for yourselves and drop us a comment on your thoughts.

  1. The Xperia X10’s user experience is called “UX,” but on paper, it might sound similar to HTC Sense or MotoBlur. For example, the Timescape application manages communication with contacts by integrating all conversations in one place using the “infinite button.

  2. I bought the Experia X10 but If found the battery life is too short and also the audio quality is not up to scratch. Still a good phone I just thought Sony would have the sound output perfect
