Strong market volume growth expected in 2010 for cellphones

According to research firm Gartner, we should expect to see a strong growth in the cell phone market during 2010 as economies continue to improve.

Last year there was an unusual 1% drop in the market, sales are expected to return to a double digit growth. As we know the competition isn’t easing and this will of course put a huge strain on vendors margins. According to Carolina Milanesi, analyst at Gartners.

The market leader Nokia last year saw its market share drop to 36.4% from 38.6 in the previous year, challenges are ahead and Nokia will face a tough first half of 2010.
