CTIA 2010 to See Sprint and Verizon 4G Announcements

Well you are probably already aware that Sprint came out with their big announcement for their 4G network at CTA 2010 with them announcing the first Android 4G smartphone the Sprint HTC EVO 4G.

However, according to an article over on information week, although Sprint may have got their big announcement out the way and in the open, Verizon will try to upstage Sprint with a 4G announcement of their own.

Word has it Verizon Wireless is planning announcements centred on their nationwide LTE network, along with announcing the availability of Skype. A Verizon spokesperson has said though that it won’t be difficult to upgrade Verizon’s Skype CDMA service to accommodate LTE handsets.

President and CEO of Verizon, Lowell McAdam has said that “Our progress is good, and we’re confident that the next generation of wireless network technology will deliver the speed, reliability, and bandwidth that businesses, government, and consumers have been anticipating.”
