Sony shows us future with rollable OLED : Video

A very interesting video has turned up which makes very interesting viewing for sure. For those of you techno mad futuristic fanatics out there this is not to be missed.

Thanks to another great article from Paul Lamkin over at pocket-lint.com for sharing this really amazing piece with us. Sony have been showing us just what they are capable of with its incredible flexible OLED display.

It has to be said this certainly makes you look twice as this is so into the future you really have to look again. The display uses organic thin film transistors known as OTFTs with an organic semiconductor material which has eight times the current modulation of the current conventional OTFTs.

The end result has been described by Sony as “the world’s first OLED panel which is capable of reproducing moving images while being rolled up” I know it sounds impossible but in order to prove the point Sony have released the video which quite clearly shows the display being continuously rolled around a cylinder with a radius of 4mm then unrolled and stretched out again. Have a look at the video and tell us what you think.
