20 Android Handsets Coming from LG This Year

It looks like LG is firing up the Android smartphone production rate this year as the company is lagging behind in the Android stakes with the likes of Samsung, Motorola and HTC all pushing out more Android good than them.

However according to Florin of Unwired View by way of the Korea Times, although LG has already announced 5 Android based handsets so far, the LG Optimus GT540, LG Ally, LG Optimus Q LU2300, LG SU2300 and the LG GW620, LG plans on pushing out a few more.

Maybe due to the company’s not too impressive handset portfolio LG’s operating profit sales slumped to 0.9 percent in Q1 of 2010 from 6.7 percent in 2009, so to address the issue LG plans on attacking the Android smartphone market by pushing out 20 Android based devices by the end of the year.

Now LG hasn’t named or given any details of these 20 devices, so one can’t comment on just how good they may be, but we’ll be keeping our eyes open and let you know as soon as we have more.
