BlackBerry Bold Slider to Launch as Torch 9800?

Word has it that Research In Motion is debating on whether to launch the new BlackBerry Bold 9800 Slider as part of the Bold range or set up a new range for the device and name the smartphone the BlackBerry Torch 9800.

Apparently the guys over at Crackberry have received multiple tip offs that the BlackBerry maker just might launch the new device that sports BlackBerry 6 OS with the Torch handle, and after some digging into the issue it appears that RIM is seriously considering the option.

Everything we’ve seen about the device has been tagged with the Bold handle thus far and one would have presumed the smartphone would have been marketed as the BlackBerry Bold 9800, but that name is far from being a done deal.

So what do our readership think, should RIM stay with the BlackBerry Bold 9800 name or do you prefer BlackBerry Torch 9800, feel free to drop us a comment with your views in our comments area below.

Makes sense to start a new line. The Bold is strictly a keyboard smartphone, and the Storm is strictly touch screen. So, a slider with combination touch and keyboard would be different enough to begin a new line.
I wish they would hurry up and decide though. My upgrade is coming up in August, and this is absolutely without any doubt what I want!
