Google Nexus Two Unlikely

Ever since Google pushed out the controversial Google Nexus One superphone there have been rumours of a Google Nexus Two device and when the public was likely to see the follow up handset, well apparently it’s unlikely we will.

According to Kellex over on Droid-life, the CEO of Google Eric Schmidt, in an interview with UK newspaper The Telegraph touched on the possibility of a successor to the Nexus One, the Google Nexus Two.

According to the article, Schmidt said… “The idea a year and a half ago was to do the Nexus One to try to move the phone platform hardware business forward. It clearly did. It was so successful; we didn’t have to do a second one. We would view that as positive but people criticised us heavily for that. I called up the board and said: ‘Ok, it worked. Congratulations — we’re stopping’. We like that flexibility; we think that flexibility is characteristic of nimbleness at our scale.”

So there it is, perhaps there will be no Nexus Two device if you go by what Schmidt is saying; however with the approach of 4G can you really see Google not wanting to take advantage and push out a 4G enabled Nexus Two?
