We have some hands-on video footage of the new smartphone out of the HP camp today, the Palm Pre 2 for your viewing pleasure along with some new details which have been outed by HP Palm product manager Tim Pettitt.

The Palm Pre 2 hands-on video comes our way courtesy of Darren Murph of Engadget and by way of Markdotguim, which delivers almost five minutes of up close and personal with the new HP webOS 2.0 smartphone.

Detail wise we learn that the Palm Pre 2 actually sports a layer of Gorilla Glass on its touch screen to prevent scratching, but the big news here is that according to Prettitt an unlocked GSM version of the Palm Pre 2 will be available direct from HP.
