MobileMe Account Renewal, Wait Until After WWDC 2011

Apple will soon kick off WWDC 2011 and apparently is working on something big with their cloud services, so if you are considering renewing your MobileMe account perhaps it would be prudent to hold off with that renewal until after WWDC 2011 on the 6th of June.

According to an article over on iPhone Download Blog by way of TUAW, whatever Apple has planned will probably involve MobileMe, and apparently the features found in MobileMe could well become free features quite soon.

According to the guys over on TUAW… “It’s been a perennial rumor that Apple will stop charging $99/year for much of its MobileMe service. The rumors have always suggested Apple will offer basic services (like email and over-the-air device syncing) for free, while paying subscribers will have access to things like website hosting, online photo galleries, storage options through iDisk, and now potentially wireless streaming of music via the rumored iCloud service.”

We now know that Apple has confirmed that iOS 5. iCloud, and Mac OS X Lion will be unveiled during WWDC 2011 and apparently a MobileMe revamp could be unveiled alongside iCloud, so the word is hold off on forking over that 99 bucks until after the event as you may save yourself the cash.
