Apple iPad 3 Mentions Found in iOS 5

It’s quite normal for someone to discover things when looking into Apple’s latest operating system, and apparently this time round references to the Apple iPad 3 have been found in the USB device files in iOS 5, two mentions of so far never seen before devices.

According to an article over on 9to5 Mac the guys over at TUAW have discovered references to “iPad3, 1” and “iPad3, 2”, which could mean that Apple may possibly deliver more than one Apple iPad 3 at some point in the future.

On the iOS smartphone front, TUAW also say there’s a couple of iPhone 5 models as well, but a lack of any mention of a new iPod Touch, although according to Macrumors, these references to the future iPhone models were also seen in iOS 4.3 beta earlier in the year.

So there you go, hopefully the iOS faithful out there can look forward to not one but two Apple iPad 3 tablets and possibly two iPhone 5 versions at some point in the future, although just when that will be is anyone’s guess at the moment.
