BlackBerry Torch 9810 Also Heading for Virgin Media

Earlier today we posted that the latest smartphone from the Research In Motion camp, the BlackBerry Torch 9810 also known as the BlackBerry Torch 2 has now popped up on the AT&T coming soon page, but for those whose preferred carrier is Virgin Media we also have received news that they will be offering the BlackBerry Torch 9810 as well.

Apparently the successor to the original BlackBerry Torch will be arriving at Virgin Media sometime later this year although no hard and fast release date for the BlackBerry Torch 9810 on Virgin Media has been given.

According to the Virgin Media press office, “Building on the popular design of the BlackBerry Torch 9800 the new BlackBerry Torch is faster and more fluid with enhanced hardware features and the new BlackBerry 7 OS. Offering the definitive BlackBerry QWERTY keyboard for fast typing combined with a large 3.2”, high-resolution touch display, the BlackBerry Torch 9810 truly is the best of both worlds. With a faster processor, Liquid Graphics, HD video recording, and 8GB of built in storage, the result is an enhanced multimedia experience in an all-in one BlackBerry design.”

Naturally at this stage in the game Virgin Media has also not revealed what the BlackBerry Torch 9810 will hit your pocket for, but as soon as we find out that information we will of course past it on.

Like I stated in the other Torch 9810 article, it appears that Research In Motion is banking a great deal on the success of their latest addition to the BlackBerry smartphone range, and are probably hoping the handset does extremely well and claws back some of that market share the company has lost in the past.

However whether the BlackBerry Torch 9810 can actually bring RIM back to its former glory in the mobile space remains to be seen.

However, if you are considering picking up the BlackBerry Torch 9810 once the device becomes available, then you now have another carrier option in Virgin Media if you really don’t want to go with AT&T, although no doubt other carriers will offer the handset as well at some point.

Again, if you are one of the Blackberry faithful, we’d love to know if you are holding out for the BlackBerry Torch 9810, and if so what attracts you to the handset?
