Samsung Stratosphere Gets Hands-on Treatment: Video

As of tomorrow the 13th of Oct, the Big Red will offer the new Samsung Stratosphere smartphone for $149.99 after a $50 mail in rebate, and if you are pondering on whether to purchase the Android handset but can’t make up your mind maybe a hands-on video will help you come to that decision, so we have one for your viewing pleasure below.

The Samsung Stratosphere hands-on footage comes our way courtesy of the guys over at Phandroid and delivers just over four minutes of getting up close to the Android 2.3.4 Gingerbread handset that the guys say offers a solid combination of features.

Okay, so let’s start of with the usual specs rundown, 4-inch Super AMOLED touch screen, 5 row slide out QWERTY keyboard, 5 megapixel rear facing auto-focus camera with LED flash, 1.3 megapixel front facing camera, 4GB internal memory, 1 GHz single core processor, 512MB RAM, and microSD expansion up to 32GB, and of course 4G LTE connectivity.

The guy’s say that the texture on the back of the Samsung Stratosphere feels almost like the device is coated in fabric, which makes a change from the glossy plastic backing found on many Sammy devices, and they like it but it’s obviously a matter of personal preference.

The bottom line according to the guys is that although the specifications aren’t that overwhelming, the Samsung Stratosphere is a solid slide out QWERTY handset for Verizon’s line up and should serve well to get the job done and has a competitive price tag.

So there you go, all you need do now is head on down and mash that play button to check out the hands-on to see if the Samsung Stratosphere is the Android device for you or not…enjoy.
