LG Optimus 3D Gingerbread update release: Faster HSPA+

LG Optimus 3D smartphone users will get a Christmas present a little early this year, we are talking about the Android 2.3 Gingerbread update that comes with some great features.

The early firmware build has been leaked, and is based on Android 2.3.5, the official LG Optimus 3D Gingerbread update release date will be November 21, so sit tight please.

The build leak popped up on XDA and offers enhancements like 2D and 3D video editing, promises to bring faster HSPA+ data on supporting units, with speeds reaching up to 21Mbps, it also brings 3D to 2D conversion and higher bit-rates for 3D videos.

Please do not try using it on your LG Optimus 3D handset just yet, the firmware is not what you call brilliant at the moment, basically in a nutshell the firmware is severely broken as it is. It is highly unstable for now, so please wait for official Nov 21 public release.

We have added three lovely screenshots as a teaser; you can see many more over at Android Central. Are you looking forward to your new Android Gingerbread update?

Cool. It would be nice to be able to convert videos into 2D, and being a dual core phone, the video editor should be pretty smooth. I love this phone and I think this firmware will make it even more fun to use. LG sure have gotten their act together!!

My optimus 3d is not rooted and I am on contract with orangeUK. now I don`t know if that means anything, but one thing is sure, my phone itself or my LG PC suite won`t find any available updates that could lead to 2.3 Gingerbread. Anyone knows when would that be available? I start to regret to go for an LG phone due to the lack of updates……
