HTC free handset with Call of Duty MW3 from Best Buy

With the holiday season approaching no doubt many will be in the market for a new phone and if you are a gamer that happens to be on the lookout for a new handset along with picking up Call of Duty MW3, it just might pay you to visit Best Buy as word is if you purchase Call of Duty MW3 from Best Buy they’ll thrown in a free Android smartphone.

According to an article over on Phone Arena by way of Cnet, Best Buy is attempting to make the public more aware of Best Buy Mobile and as a result the big box firm will give customers who purchase Call of Duty MW3 for $59.99 the choice between three HTC Android smartphones for free.

Don’t expect one of the latest high-end HTC devices though, as the three the customer has the option of having for free are the HTC EVO 4G on Sprint, the white HTC Droid Incredible 2 on Verizon or the HTC Inspire 4G on AT&T.

Having said that, although the Android handsets aren’t the top of the range one can’t really complain about the price as they are free gratis when you buy Call of Duty MW3, although of course you will be required to sign up for the usual two-year contract with the handset’s carrier.

Along with the free smartphone offer Best Buy is apparently forking out a whopping $25 million for marketing this holiday season, so you could be seeing more great deals such as this one in the run up to Christmas.

Apparently Best Buy are spending such a wad because currently 70 percent of phones are still purchased via a carrier and Best Buy wants to grab a bigger slice of that pie, with the head of marketing for Best Buy Mobile, Allister Jones saying, “We want to get customers to realize there is a better way, and that better way is Best Buy.”

So there you have it, if you are in the market for a reasonable HTC Android smartphone and perhaps need to purchase Call of Duty MW3 as a present then hitting up Best Buy would save you some cash.
