Orange & Three UK to offer Sony Xperia S

If you are over here in the United Kingdom and have taken a liking to the Sony Ericsson Xperia Nozomi, or as it is now know as, the Sony Xperia S, you just might like to know which UK carriers you’ll be able to pick up the smartphone from once it becomes available in the UK.

Well according to the guys over on Unwired View, those in the UK that would like to own the Sony Xperia S can turn to O2, Three and Orange, all confirming that they will offer the latest Android 2.3 Gingerbread smartphone.

The Xperia S will of course be the first smartphone to hit the streets with that Sony branding since Sony acquired Ericsson’s share of their joint venture, no doubt hence the name change from Nozomi to S.

For those that may have missed or forgotten the specs for the Sony Xperia S are a 4.3-inch Reality Display, 12 megapixel rear facing camera, 1080p video, 1.3 megapixel front facing camera, 1GB RAM, 32GB internal memory, and a 1.5GHz dual core processor, and of course the device is upgradeable to Android Ice Cream Sandwich.

However, if your preferred carrier in the United Kingdom happens to be Vodafone, it looks like your will be right out of luck as Vodafone has apparently stated to So Mobile that they have no plans to offer the Sony Xpera S.

So are any of our UK readers waiting with bated breath to snap up the Sony Xperia S once it hits shelves, or do you have your eye on a different handset?
