Sony Walkman Z Japan release Feb, US March

During the IFA event in September of last year, tech company Sony announced their new Sony Walkman Z series for the Japanese market, with an aim of competing against Apple’s iPod device.

Models for the Walkman Z comprise of a 16GB, 32GB and 64GB, running on Android’s OS, 4.3-inch LCD touchscreen, 1GHz dual-core Nvidia Tegra processor, mini HDMI, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 2.1, GPS, FM Radio and so on.

Already being lapped up by the Japanese market with red and purple 64GB models to speak of, we have some good news today that a 64GB platinum white model coded NW-Z1070/W will be available from February 17th. Courtesy of cnet.com, Japan will receive the following version in February with America following behind receiving theirs in March.

News of the new white Sony Walkman Z will no doubt be gratefully accepted, with news that the color gives it a shiny affect with easier wiping. Price wise, the new addition does appear fairly hefty at 45,800 yen, the equivalent of $533.

Tell us whether the Sony Walkman Z series gets your vote? Will you be interested in the platinum white 64GB model? Perhaps you are patiently waiting for its arrival in the US? Let us know.
