Skype for Nokia Belle, download via store

Good news has come through today for users that have Nokia Symbian Belle devices from the 700,701 to the 603 and so on. The Skype app has been updated giving the Belle UI a better appearance with improved performance.

As allaboutsymbian.com reported alongside this, core voice calling and Instant Messaging are key features, making this the ideal app choice for Skype users. Using 6.9MB the new 2.1.23 version can be downloaded from the Nokia Store. Should you decide to go ahead with installing it, you will be asked to provide your Skype username and password, with contacts and up-to-date IM being automatically downloaded.

There will be an option to import names and numbers from your Contacts app, giving you the benefit of calling these numbers via Skype which is entirely up to you.

Tell us what you think about the new Skype download for Nokia Belle? Have you tried to install it?

I was able to install the Belle update successfully (on the internal memory of my N8), but the call quality is very poor right now. I have no idea what’s causing the problem. Reinstalling the software makes no difference…
