Bell Android 4.0 ICS updates with time frames

We’ve been bringing readers news about when their devices may receive Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich updates. The operating system upgrade is slowly rolling out to various devices since its arrival on the Samsung Galaxy Nexus last year. Today we have news for Bell customers in Canada with the time frames that you can expect your smartphones and tablets to receive the 4.0 update.

Some of this information has come out before in dribs and drabs but it’s pleasing to have all the news for Bell devices in one place. A leaked roadmap with timelines for the 4.0 ICS update has come to light courtesy of Mobile Syrup and some of you may be happier than others if your device is near the top of the list. The Ice Cream Sandwich update will bring users many new features such as Face Unlock, improved usability, enhanced Cloud-based connectivity, upgraded voice tools and more.

The list of Samsung, HTC and LG devices and due dates for when they should get the ICS update is as follows —
The Samsung Galaxy S2 (S II) — April 2012, Samsung Galaxy Note — April 2012, Samsung Galaxy Tab 10.1 — May 2012, Samsung Galaxy Tab 8.9 LTE — June 2012, HTC Sensation — June 2012, HTC Raider — June 2012 and finally the LG Optimus LTE — July 2012.

It’s noted that Bell says that support for some features of the operating system upgrade will vary according to manufacturer.
