Android ICS update rolling out to Huawei MediaPad tablet

If you happen to own the Huawei MediaPad Android tablet that was launched almost half a year ago with Android 3.0 Honeycomb aboard, it appears that finally after quite a long wait, owners of the MediaPad slate will be receiving an update to the Android Ice Cream Sandwich operating system.

According to the guys over at Ubergizmo, by way of German website Tablet Blog, the Android Ice Cream Sandwich update for the Huawei MediaPad isn’t available over the air, and as such those wishing to grab the Android 4.0 update for their tablet will need to hit up the Huawei website.

The Android Ice Cream Sandwich update for the Huawei MediaPad tablet weighs in at 330MB, but apparently it should be noted that T-Mobile customers will have to wait for an update of their own, thee reason for which could be down to T-Mobile checking and screening the ICS update before pushing it out.

We also have a little video for your viewing consideration below that shows off the Huawei MediaPad running Android Ice Cream Sandwich, although the commentary is in German, so some might not understand what is being said, but you do get to see what ICS will look like on the 7-inch Android slate.

So I’ll leave it right there and let you head on down to mash that play button, and then shoot off to Huawei to grab the Android 4.0 update for your MediaPad, and of course if you do download and install the ICS update feel free to let us know how it all goes and if you experience any problems by dropping us a comment…enjoy.
