LTE enabled Samsung SHV-E170K to launch in South Korea

Old Sammy is continuing to deliver new smartphones to the mobile space, and now South Korea’s KT has confirmed they will launch three new Samsung Android smartphone in the country, one of which is the LTE enabled Samsung SHV-E170K, an Android Ice Cream Sandwich smartphone.

According to the guys over at Ubergizmo by way of Sammy Hub, although KT has announced they will launched the Samsung SHV-E170K, (I do wish they’d give them proper names) the carrier didn’t come forth with any real specifications on the Android handset other than the device will support 4G LTE connectivity.

However, some details on another Korean website, Mt.co.kr, along with a GLBenchmark test has come up with a few specs for the Samsung SHV-E170K, which according to the site will sport the latest Android Ice Cream Sandwich operating system along with a 1.5GHz MSM8960 Snapdragon S4 dual core processor, pack a 4.3-inch Super AMOLED qHD touch screen, a 5 megapixel rear facing camera and a 1.3 megapixel front facing camera.

No word on the other two Samsung Android devices except all three will support LTE and feature a bumped up high capacity battery to cope with the LTE connectivity.

Word is the Samsung SHV-E170K is set to release in South Korea sometime this month, but thus far no word on just how much the Android smartphone will command price wise, or if the handset will see the light of day elsewhere in the world.
