Absinthe 2.0 iOS 5.1.1 jailbreak & video delight
We know that an awful lot of people are waiting for the iOS 5.1.1 untethered jailbreak to release and yesterday gave the news that it is now only days away. Today we have further news, as it appears that the untethered jailbreak will be called Absinthe 2.0 and we also have a video showing the much-awaited jailbreak.
We’ve been following all the exploits of pod2g and his endeavors to bring this untethered jailbreak to a public release and many comments to our previous articles have shown us that this is big news for many of you. Only yesterday we told how pod2g had tweeted that the release of the iOS 5.1.1 untethered jailbreak was now only days away and also gave an updated complete list of devices that it will be compatible with, so check that out at the link for all the details. Now it seems that the release is even closer and that packaging the exploit into an iOS user-friendly tool is well under way.
According to iDownloadBlog, which spoke to a hacker with connections to pod2g, the untethered jailbreak is to be called Absinthe version 2.0. The source (xvolks) is currently testing the jailbreak with the iPhone 4 and has already used it on the iPhone 3GS. This will be music to the ears of many potential iOS 5.1.1 jailbreakers as the original Absinthe tool was exceptionally easy to use so there’s no reason to believe that the Chronic Dev Team won’t be able to come up with something as simple this time around.
As well as the good news that the untethered jailbreak is almost ready to go we also have news of a video, also courtesy of iDownloadBlog. The same source that told how the jailbreak will be called Absinthe 2.0 has also provided a video of the jailbreak. However, for some reason iDB’s video is not working anymore and comes up as private, but we here at Phones Review have found another for your viewing pleasure
and have embedded this for you to view below our story. The video is not great quality but does give a look at Absinthe 2.0 in action using the iPhone 4 GSM.
Take a look at the video below and let us know what you think about the Absinthe iOS 5.1.1 untethered jailbreak being so close to release. Are you one of the many potential jailbreakers waiting?
