Three UK makes Sony Xperia U available

For those Android faithful here in the United Kingdom who have been awaiting the availability of the Sony Xperia U smartphone, if you preferred carrier happens to be Three UK, you might like to know that as of right now Three has made the Xperia U available to purchase online.

According to the guys over at Unwired View, the Sony Xperia U will also become available in Three stores as of tomorrow, and the Xperia U is offered on both Pay Monthly and Pay As You Go.

The Sony Xperia U on Pay Monthly comes as a free handset on a two-year contract on the Unlimited Internet 500 plan for £23 per month, or on the Unlimited Internet 1000 plan for £25 per month or on The One Plan for £30 a month. Whilst the Pay As You Go Sony Xperia U commands a price tag of £169.99.

The Sony Xperia U on offer from Three UK is in black and has 4GB internal memory but unfortunately doesn’t support microSD expansion so hopefully that 4GB will be enough to suit your needs.

Other specs on the Android smartphone include a 3.5-inch FWVGA touch screen along with a 5 megapixel rear facing auto-focus camera with LED flash, a VGA front facing snapper, a 1GHz single core processor, and comes running Android 2.3 Gingerbread, but should be updated to Android Ice Cream Sandwich later in the year.

So there you go, the Sony Xperia U is the cheaper handset of the Xperia range of smartphones, and if you really want to own the device you can now do so by hitting up Three UK.
