Samsung Galaxy S5 video review shows whats new

#

It has been a week now since Samsung took the wraps off the Galaxy S5 which has so far received a mixed reception from the mobile world, but some of this could be down to the rumours leading up to its launch building expectations up to high levels. Today we have a Samsung Galaxy S5 video that shows what’s new.

Below this article we have an early hands on review of the Samsung Galaxy S5 that is 25 minutes long that is having an in depth look at the handset and some of its new features and design. We get to see the three colour options available at launch which won’t be to everybody’s tastes, and obviously the handset looks very similar to last year’s offering.

The S5 is quite a bit bigger despite only seeing a slight increase in screen size with larger bezels at the top and bottom of the display and it is wondered if this is due to the added water resistance of the smartphone.

We see the rear panel removed to show the O-ring that keeps water away from the internals, and it is wondered if Samsung has added a Nano coating to the device in a similar way to the Motorola Moto G, which recently survived 30 minutes submerged in water.

There is a look at the button and feature placement of the Galaxy S5 compared to the S4, and the USB 3.0 port at the bottom of the S5 is welcomed. In terms of build quality the new Galaxy feels lighter than last year’s model, but the bezel that runs around the edge of the handset is not liked.

Although it is slightly more raised than the Galaxy S4 so will help to protect the screen better and the rear camera is talked about and questions raised why Samsung didn’t fit twin LED flashes to accompany it, and instead fitted a heart rate monitor.

The speaker placement is the same but was found to be quite loud for its size, and the new home button with its fingerprint scanner wasn’t liked as much as the S4. The fingerprint scanner is looked at and how certain features can be set up to work.

There is also a look at the two displays with the new one found to be quite pleasing, and we also get to see the new Samsung TouchWiz UI. Check out the rest of the video and tell us what you like about the Samsung Galaxy S5.
