Samsung Galaxy Note 2 Android 4.4 update latest

#

There’s some interesting news today for those waiting for the Samsung Galaxy Note 2 Android 4.4 update, as it appears this could now be in the testing stage. Android 4.4 KitKat has been slowly rolling out to various devices, and some versions of the Galaxy S4 and Note 3 have already received the update, so this latest news is promising for Note 2 owners.

Earlier this month we heard that US carrier Sprint had confirmed the update would be coming for the Galaxy Note 2, although no date was specified. Previous to this we had informed of confirmation from a Samsung engineer who said that both the Galaxy Note 2 and Galaxy S3 should be receiving the update around the end of March.

Now there’s a real indicator that the update for the Note 2 may not be too much further away. This comes from a GFXBench document showing the South Korean variant (SHV-E250) of the Galaxy Note 2, and clearly listed under the OS section is Android 4.4.2. This tells us that at least one of the carriers in South Korea has a Note 2 running this latest version of the operating system, and so testing is likely to be taking place.

If one model of the Galaxy Note 2 is now closer to officially receiving the update, this is encouraging news for owners of the device elsewhere. However, we should point out that this spot doesn’t necessarily mean that the update will start to roll out shortly, although at least it appears that it’s one stage nearer to release. Are you patiently, or not so patiently, waiting for Android 4.4 for your Samsung Galaxy Note 2?

I just can’t understand why once Sammy releases it, the telcoms take so long to send out the OTA. I get that they need to test it on their networks, but c’mon, it ends up being a year later when companies like Verizon actually push it to their customers.

Verizon Sucks with updates! They won’t let it go until it’s perfect. Perfectly filed with bloatwear that won’t run with the update! So they keep pushing the advertisements until it does work. That’s what takes so long.
