HTC One (M8) is Official With Sense 6, Duo Camera & More

#

HTC have finally announced the HTC One (M8) during a press event in London. It’s the company’s brand new flagship smartphone, and the successor to the popular HTC one that launched last year. The M8 will offer a larger display and improved internal specifications in nearly every area, not forgetting new features like the Duo Camera that will help it stand out even more against the competition.

HTC tweeted this from their official Twitter account.

The One (M8) is equipped with a 5-inch 1080p display, a quad-core Snapdragon 801 processor clocked at 2.3GHz (a 2.5GHz model will launch in Asia), Android 4.4 with HTC Sense 6, a revised version of BlinkFeed, 2GB of RAM, 16GB or 32GB of storage in addition to a microSD card slot, a nanoSIM tray, Bluetooth 4.0 with aptX, 802.11 a/b/g/n/ac Wi-Fi with support for 2.4GHz and 5GHz frequency bands, an HTC UltraPixel camera with a secondary lens for depth information, a 5-megapixel front-facing wide-angle lens and a 2,600mAh battery.

While we are talking about the battery, the new HTC One (M8) supports Qualcomm’s Quick Charge 2.0, although at launch it will only ship with a cable capable of working with Quick Charge 1.0, but later on this year, HTC will release a new charger that will allow you to charge your HTC One (M8) faster than ever before.

The HTC Duo Camera is a very unique feature, and it lets you change the focus of your images later on similar to Nokia Refocus on Windows Phone, There’s also a brand new Zoe application that’s coming soon, similar to last years Zoe but this year it will allow you and your friends to collaborate on highlight reels. The camera interface looks stunning and allows you to easily switch between recording video, pictures, Zoes and more and let’s not forget the camera will focus and capture an image in just 0.3 seconds! on par with that of the Samsung Galaxy S5.

Also similar to what the Galaxy S5 offers, the HTC One (M8) has an “Extreme Power Saving Mode” that provides up to 15 hours of battery life even when your battery is down to 5 percent. Now that sounds pretty amazing, and it works by not allowing you to do anything apart from placing calls, text messages, pulling in email manually and other very basic tasks.

The One M8 launches today in the U.K. and also across the pond in the USA coming in 3 different colours going from Gun-metal Gray, Amber Gold and Glacial Silver.
