Samsung unveils the Samsung Gear S2 New Edition in Gold and Platinum
Smartwatches still haven’t found their place in the mobile world, but they’ve made great strides over the past year. The Samsung Gear S2 New Edition is the latest wearable to vie for consumer’s attention, and it’s geared towards those that want some extra bling on their wrist.
We’ve seen smartphones covered in Gold and other exotic alloys, it’s nothing new. We have also seen a couple of “Premium” smartwatches from Apple and others, but Samsung has stayed out of that fray… until now. The Samsung Gear S2 New Edition has just been launched as their answer to the premium version of the Apple Watch and it may be right up your alley if you dig Gold or Platinum.
The Samsung Gear S2 New Edition is just like the regular model on the inside and out aside from the chassis and the band. Consumers will be able to choose from two new models this time around with the first version will consists of an 18K Rose Gold (plated) chassis and sports an Ivory colored leather band. On the flipside, we’ve got the Platinum version with a Black leather strap. A suite of new watch faces were announced as well including ones featuring the Peanuts and artwork from folks like Basquiat.
If you’re interested in the Samsung Gear S2 New Edition, you may have to wait awhile unless you reside in China. The wearable is set to debut in that region first before moving on to other locales across the globe. Unfortunately, the price is still up in the air but we’ll keep you in the loop as we learn more.
